International Programs
The support of several International Programs is a significant component of the work of the Rotary Club of Ancaster. Through personal donations from members, sponsorships, fund raising and other means, money is raised to support
International Programs such as the Belarus Children of Chernobyl Respite Program,
Haiti Water For Life,
Polio Plus,
and other projects from the World Community Service catalogue of Rotary District 7090
As part of The Rotary Club of Ancaster's regular meeting programs members are able to learn about the work of other organizations who are working in international development. Programs have featured the volunteer work of local young people who travelled to Dominica to build facilities for a school for orphans, the work of a Rotary Club partnering in Africa to provide a training centre for elementary teachers so they could provide educational opportunities in small villages, and details of a new training centre for indigenous people in a remote village in Argentina to help them train for work in the growing tourism affecting
their traditional lands.
